Nollywood actress/writer/producer Uche Jombo will release the Damage film trilogy to address social issues of domestic violence, human trafficking, and HIV/Aids.

The first film in the series Damage will premiere in Lagos during the first week of July. In Damage, a man and his wife are involved in a relationship that cycles between passionate love and intense violence.

The second film, My Life, My Damage follows a young drug addict who seeks redemption after discovering she is HIV positive.

The third film, My Country, Their Damage, tells the story of a naive village girl who finds herself in a troubling situation when she ventures abroad with an American returnee.

Jombo has written and co-written several films, including Games Men Play, Price of Fame, A Time to Love, and The Celebrity. She is also the Co-Producer and Executive Producer of Nollywood Hustlers and Holding Hope, respectively.

Jombo plans on making the Damage trilogy available for purchase online. In addition to her film projects, she also recently launched a film studio.

  1. I wonder why these movies are branded as such. I can’t remember the last time I saw a Nollywood movie that wasn’t about some strong social issue.

    • I think the way they put it was that issues like domestic violence or human trafficking were taboo and not talked about as much at least in Nollywood films.

  2. I love Nollywood! It’s a step in the right direction… a good thing to start using movies as a way to educate the public on some these pressing issues.
