Hollywood heartthrob Meagan Good’s self-produced film Video Girl debuted this weekend at AMC theaters around the country.

The movie tells the story of a small town girl who aspires to become a hip-hop video model. The presence of real video models Melyssa Ford and Angel Lola Luv should lend the film some authenticity.

Watch the trailer below:

Good calls Video Girl a “cautionary tale for young women.”

In the film, she plays the main character Lorie Walker, a girl who rises to the top and becomes the hottest video IT girl around but also succombs to the perils of the rock-star life: fame, sex, and drugs.

What’s Meagan Good up to these days?

Good has a busy 2011 on screen.

She’s featured in Jumping the Broom and 35 and Ticking — both movies come out in theaters this May 2011. She also appears in Dysfunctional Friends, a comedy to be released later in 2011.

Known for her roles in Waist Deep (2006), Stomp the Yard (2007), The Cookout (2004), Deliver Us From Eva (2003), and Eve’s Bayou (1997), Good is also starting a singing group called the H.E.L.L.O Girls.
