Everyone has a list of things they want to accomplish by a certain age. A dream job, a dream salary, the perfect family…. This self-expectation is what radio personality and director Russ Parr is trying to capture in his upcoming film 35 & Ticking.
In the film, four friends approaching the age of 35 attempt to revive their romantic lives and build their dream families against their ticking biological clocks. This seems like a movie we all can relate to and should be an interesting film as long as the dialogue and the scenarios are not too contrived.
Parr’s movie is a perfect example of DIY (do it yourself) filmmaking. He wrote and financed the film himself and shot it in fifteen days.
In the clip below, Parr talks about his inspiration for the movie, how it is made for both sexes (in case you guys thought this was just a chick flick), and how Hollywood views black relationship films.
