Using creative marketing for the upcoming film Madea’s Big Happy Family, Tyler Perry and Lionsgate have released a series of promotional posters featuring comedic, pistol-toting Madea as a variety of characters from popular film and television, including a few Oscar winners.
Which is your favorite?
My favs are True Grits, The Godmother and Georgia Shore. Tyler Perry/Madea is a clown. Can’t wait to see this movie!
I love the Godmother! Yo, he’s good. it looks very very classy.
Jesus! I love the Black Swan poster the best. But Jesus, they all look good.
This is surprising. Interesting though, but, is it even legal?
That’s a good question. Probably not, but I don’t think anyone’s going to bother suing Tyler Perry.
You know what Ann, this is illegal but who’s gonna sue TP? Nobody would even dare. Otherwise we’ll get out there and scream racism with placards here and there.
Cream racism? For what? Why? What has suing TP or Madea for using someone else’ art got to do with racism? I don’t get it. Can you explain yourself?
It’s not necessarily illegal. Did you guys see ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’? The guy was repainting very well known pieces of art and selling them. Nobody said it was illegal? So I don’t think it’s illegal to necessarily copy somebody’s piece of art. In any case all those movies are gaining some form of popularity through Madea’s ads. Think about it, people are gonna want to watch The Godfather if they think the whole Madea thing about The Godmother is cute.
