Ever watched a scene in a film where two characters are having a conversation, but the scene seemed a bit off spatially? This often occurs with novice filmmakers who haven’t yet mastered the techniques of filming dialogue in a scene.

Freelance cinematographer Tom Antos breaks down the fundamentals of filming a conversation, how to set up shots, the rule of thirds, and using the right lenses.

  1. I can’t believe there are people like this that teach stuff like this for free neither. I am so impressed. Good stuff.

  2. I’ve seen so many movies with these mistakes, I mean it’s ok when the viewer is not informed but u still notice that the movie is just bad and you just don’t know why. Now I know. No wonder no matter how much I liked Tyler Perry’s movies, I knew something was not right, now I know.
