After almost 25 years of being in development, Red Tails will finally reach theaters on January 20, 2012. It will be the feature film debut of director Anthony Hemingway, who has directed numerous television shows: CSI: NY, Treme, The Closer, Community, True Blood, ER, The Wire, and Criminal Minds, to name a few. Hemingway speaks about the making of Red Tails in the clip below.

Executive produced by George Lucas, the film is an action/adventure/drama starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Method Man, Ne-Yo, Andre Royo, David Oyelowo, Michael B. Jordan, Tristan Wilds, Josh Dallas, Bryan Cranston, and Daniela Ruah. Written by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder, it is inspired by true events and honors the memory and history of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African-American combat pilots during World War II.
