Tim Greene, Elizabeth Harrington, Kevin Wilson, blind filmmaker

After giving out acting tips at a recent even at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Library in Washington D.C., popular hip hop filmmaker Tim Greene (Creepin, LiL Homeez, Raykwan’s Cuties) interviewed a young Elizabeth Harrington. Elizabeth is 15 years old, stands 4 feet, 8 inches tall, and is completely blind.

She was born with anophthalmia, which means without eyes. Her eyes are prosthetics and she also has cerebral palsy, but she never let’s that stop her from fulfilling her dreams.

Elizabeth already has an attractive resume. She has an assistant director credit and has directed a children’s film called Super Kids, Super Heroes.

Instead of relying on visuals, she relies on hearing and other senses during the filmmaking process.

Believed to be among the youngest blind filmmaker worldwide, Elizabeth aims to become a spokesperson for children with disabilities. She says talents like Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder inspired her, because of their music and because they are blind.

Greene works with Elizabeth. In the studio, Greene directs and Elizabeth gives the actors and actresses feedback.

“Mr. Tim has helped me learn the trade of acting and directing, and I wouldn’t trade him for a million dollars, he’s loyal,” Elizabeth said of Greene.

Greene said of Elizabeth. “She’s teachable and unique.”

  1. The problem with the world is that not a whole lot of people are willing to help the spirited. This is great news to me — tear drops.

  2. Great, great, great stuff! I am glad she can also live her life any how she wants to. I think this is what our society should be pushing for — hopefully she will inspire more blind people to explore more, and hopefully we can also help them to explore the lengths ans breadths of themselves.

  3. This are the positive things we look for in our communities everywhere. I am glad people with good heart, civility and experience are touching our loved ones who need it most. I look forward to seeing more of Elizabeth’s works!
