So many films to watch at the Philadelphia Film Festival, currently ongoing from October 20-November 3, 2011, and so little time.

Here are 5 films that caught our radar and may be worth seeing if you’re in the Philadelphia area, or to look out for when they come to a film festival or theater in your city.

Set in Philadelphia, the film follows Nicole (Nafessa Williams), whose recently-divorced mother has just taken a high-profile job with Philadelphia’s District Attorney. The young woman is a stranger to the city until she befriends girls involved with a faction of gang leaders in Philly’s “hood,” which opens her up to a world in which violence is justice.

  2. ‘Like Water’ may just be the documentary of the year. That brother form Brazil is really good. He is the man – best pound for pound fighter in the world ever! And the second is a brother too. ha!
