KEMBUJE, Gambia — The Israeli Apartheid in Palestine is the world’s most immoral and genocidal crime against humanity that is currently unfolding. A crime that started in 1917 by the United Kingdom and supported by fellow European nations, the U.S. and UN until 1948 when they finally consummated the State of Israel. This was done deliberately by transplanting a European population into a Middle Eastern nation, Palestine, on the pretext that the Jews are a nation and a tribe who are the ‘chosen people of God,’ who apparently had given Israel the land of Canaan! This narrative itself is unjustified for the creation of a nation-state. To cut a long story short, these present-day Israelis are nothing other than common Europeans who have been hated by their fellow Europeans because of their faith.

The crisis

Because Europeans could not accept them, Jews faced intolerable persecution in each and every European nation over centuries until today. This persecution reached its height in Germany where the Nazi government under Adolf Hitler unleashed a deliberate policy to annihilate Jews among other peoples including Blacks in what is called the Holocaust. To get them out of Europe, the UK in particular bought the idea of relocating them to Palestine and thus the process effectively began in 1917. It started with the Balfour Declaration, and was completed in 1948 with a UN resolution for the creation of the State of Israel.

Since then, Israel has deliberately adopted a policy to support any Jew anywhere in the world to relocate to Israel. In this policy, Israel deliberately confiscates lands of the Palestinians to build houses for new Jewish arrivals from anywhere in the world. This is in contravention of the agreements that set up the borders in 1967. Today, Israel has outstripped its bounds into neighboring territories, not only to build new settlements, but also to demolish the homes of Palestinians in order to accommodate fresh arrivals.

The narrative that Hamas is using humans as shields, and that Israel is using surgical strikes are false. Gaza is 360 kilometers square with 1.8 million people making it the most densely populated area in the world. To imagine that an F16 jet, or a tank or a warship or an Apache helicopter could fire a missile or bomb into such a space and fail to hit innocent civilians is tantamount to plunging into a river and not get wet! It is even more ridiculous to imagine that Hamas, just like any true liberation movement such as the Mau Mau in Kenya, PAIGC in Guinea Bissau or the Continental Army in the U.S. would use its own people it claims to liberate as a shield!

The Support

Thus to support Palestine, we have to understand the nature and dynamics of this conflict. The West, led by the U.S. and the UK are indeed quite sophisticated in their propaganda and politics that through such mainstream media outlets as CNN and BBC among others, they have the capability to make viewers hate the Victim and love the Victimizer! With an array of sweet talking journalists, policy analysts, former generals and ambassadors, the CNN and BBC would line up heavyweight experts who are trained to utter what would appear to be incontrovertible logicalities and information, and which on close scrutiny are only based on nothing other than misconceived, racist and incoherent data and analysis.

For this purpose, if you stand up for Palestine, here are some positions you need to take:

  1. Reject the entire lies of the Israeli Prime Minister, Intellectuals, Generals, Citizens who claim that Hamas is a terror organization
  2. Totally reject the idea that the problem is that Hamas is shooting rockets into Israel
  3. Reject the narration from Pres. Obama, Prime Minister Cameron and their chief propagandists, John Kerry and John McCain, and fellow U.S. and EU leaders that Israel has a right to defend itself
  4. Accept the truth that Israel is the forceful relocation of foreigners from Europe on Palestinian land who have over the years continued to seize more Palestinian lands and displaced the people to bring in more Europeans
  5. Accept the truth that Israel has imprisoned 1.8 million Palestinians inside a space of 360 square kilometers and seized Gaza where Israel determines who visits or leaves, what goods can come in and go out. Israel taxes the people, provides no services and has the liberty to arrest, detain, torture and kill Palestinians at will and does not account for it
  6. Accept the truth that Israel has built a wall around the West Bank, where Israel has the liberty to enter and arrest, detain, torture and kill any Palestinian it sees fit
  7. Accept the truth that currently, Israel has thousands of Palestinians locked in their prisons on what it calls administrative detention which can continue indefinitely and incommunicado
  8. Accept the truth that Israel is the biggest recipient of U.S. support worth billions of dollars, with Egypt playing second fiddle for the purpose of facilitating atrocities of Israel against the Palestinians. The U.S. has protected the Mubarak regime, and now the Al-Sisi tyranny by providing billions of annual military support for the sole purpose of Egypt ensuring that the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt remains closed so that no one leaves or comes into Gaza
  9. Accept the truth that Israel is the leading violator of UN resolutions and engages in targeted murder campaigns against the leaders and citizens of Palestine in the pretext of self defense
  10. Accept the truth that Europe and the U.S. have equipped Israel with nuclear capability and military power to ensure that it has an edge over all other regimes in the region

The Solution

  1. UK must be held to account in order to initiate a solution

Up till 1917 going to 1947, it was the UK that had mandate over Palestine, and who initiated and supported the creation of the State of Israel in total disregard for the rights and welfare of the Palestinians. Thus the world must hold the UK as the single most important culprit for this mess. All those who campaign for Free Palestine, must use local and international law and institutions to put pressure on the UK Government to correct this mess in fulfillment of the rights of Palestinians. Sanctions, boycotts, petitions, demonstrations and other positive actions must be directed at the UK Government and British companies and other institutions until the UK establishment own up to their bad judgement and correct this intolerable situation.

2. Arab countries and others to arm Hamas and defend Palestinian militarily

Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan and with others such as Turkey, Iran, South Africa, Nigeria and Indonesia with other justice loving nations must equip Palestinian freedom fighters with weapons and deploy their soldiers in Gaza and West Bank for a direct showdown with Israel. If these Arab and non-Arab countries take this position, the crisis will end immediately because ultimately Israel knows it cannot contain such a force, and the U.S. also knows that such an action will affect global oil prices and their control and influence in the region and the world, which they will not want to lose. If the U.S., Israel and UK want to still fight for it, it will draw in Russia and China thus effectively leading to the 1st Nuclear World War which will force the rest of the world to seek restrain. This is the best solution available. This is not an outrageous idea because already the U.S., the UK and the EU are supporting Israel militarily, financially and morally to the best of their ability. No human life is more or less worthy than another life!

3. Arab States and others need to cut diplomatic relations and impose sanctions on the UK, the U.S. and the EU

The Arab countries must immediately sever all diplomatic, financial and economic ties with the UK, the U.S., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia and Canada among other Western nations so long as they support Israel and condemn Palestinians for their resistance. The Gulf States must also put sanctions on these Western nations for their support of state terrorism by Israel. The Palestinian crisis is an extreme situation and it requires extreme solutions. Peace talks and UN resolutions alone will not solve this issue because the entire West is backing Israel, which does not care about the UN. The matter has now got to a stage where the Arab states, supported by Africa and China and Russia must make a deliberate step to put these Western nations in line and on the path of justice. How can the U.S. and the EU support Ukraine against Russia, yet refuse to support Palestine against Israel?

4. Take Western and Israeli leaders before the International Criminal Court (ICC)

NGOs, the Gulf States, African Union and other governments, think tanks and research institutions and experts must begin the collection and documentation of relevant data as evidence to present to the ICC to indict the Israeli leadership, Pres. Barrack Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron for crimes against humanity being committed by Israel in Palestine. The U.S. and the UK has provided weapons of mass destruction to the Israeli government to use against defenseless women and children as the current massacre is manifesting itself in Palestine.

5. Launch a massive reconstruction and economic plan for Palestine

The Gulf States, UK, U.S. ad EU must fund a massive economic reconstruction plan for Palestine. This should come within the framework of supporting a unified Palestinian government and providing a trillion US dollars for the rebuilding of Gaza and providing economic opportunities for the Palestinians. In this regard the UN and the entire international community must recognize Hamas as a legitimate national Palestinian liberation organization, and withdraw the categorization of Hamas as a terrorist organization.

6. Declare the Independent Republic of Palestine

The Arab states supported by Africa, Asia and South America and the Nordic countries must sponsor a resolution in the next UN General Assembly for the declaration of the Independent State of Palestine, i.e. in September 2014. The world must completely ignore the UK, EU and U.S. for their unsurprising and unreasonable objection to this resolution. The 1967 borders must prevail and Palestine must unify all armed groups into the National Army of Palestine to be equipped, trained and supplied with weapons by the international community to defend their land and people.

Conclusion

The solution to the Palestinian Crisis requires drastic and urgent actions that cannot be initiated and supported by the West but have to come from Arab states primarily and supported by the rest of the world. The sooner the world is aware of this and puts it in place, the better it will be to prevent Israel from continuing to have the carte blanche to exterminate the Palestinian people. Here is my six-point proposal for ending the Israeli-Occupation of Palestine. This may be radical but it is an urgent proposal, because the situation in Palestine requires it.

  1. When the world refuses to share and we continue to play this “Winner takes all” game. Yes, this is a shame! This is a big fat shame! Thanks Madi Jobarteh!

    • Worse, the game is rigged. Doubly unfair. Palestine has never been given a fair chance to defend herself. But Israel? Nuclear weapons? Who will stand to save Palestine from the Israeli onslaught? Who will? What a shame… the world we live in… oh, what a shame?

  2. Just horrible, just horrible! But the believers in the US will come and sell us false images of their foreign in Ghana. They will come two-faced and two-tongued. I am ashamed that an Israeli man manages the famous Blackstars team. How did we come to such a decision? Sometimes we gotta live by something. A man who lives by nothing, dies by nothing, is nothing.

  3. Israel’s persecution of the Palestinians just makes others hate the Judaic faith. Just makes others hate Jews, more! This kind of thing makes a faith hated. And it is furthermore no perfect witness of a perfect faith.

  4. A single zealot, lest a nation of zealots, may become a persecutor, and better men be their victims. The nature and risk of being civilized.
