Unfortunately, I have to bring you more news on U.S. elections no matter how much I wish we could actually be discussing important issues affecting us on the continent at the moment. But one can also say this U.S. election has provided for some of us, a getaway from some of the depressing issues we tackle daily in our own nations. More, the past U.S. elections has opened a window into the inner workings of an older democracy than our own: some of it’s take-aways are pertinent to our own struggle with democratic reform.

For this reason, I would like to share with you the promise of the President-elect, Donald Trump, to African Americans and for Urban Renewal. The details are fascinating to say the least: such as Equal justice before the Law. I have heard him repeat this before, although I have also wondered why he had mixed it with Stop & Frisk and Law & Order. The last two are unnerving terms in Black America so it may be fitting, and perhaps also a sign of learning, that Trump has dropped those terms and opted to concentrate more on restoring jobs in the inner cities with an equal treatment under the law.

We will see!

DONALD J. TRUMP’S NEW DEAL FOR BLACK AMERICA – WITH A PLAN FOR URBAN RENEWAL

Nobody needs to tell African-Americans in this country that the old new deal from the Democratic Party isn’t working for them. In election after election, Democratic party leaders take African-American voters for granted and year after year the condition of Black America gets worse. The conditions in our inner cities today are unacceptable. Too many African-Americans have been left behind.

African-Americans need a new deal from their next president. Donald Trump is proposing just that. The following are ten promises announced by Donald Trump on October 26, 2016 in Charlotte, NC that will define a new deal for Black America:

1. Great Education Through School Choice. We will allow every disadvantaged child in America to attend the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. School choice is the great civil rights issue of our time, and Donald Trump will be the nation’s biggest cheerleader for school choice in all 50 states. We will also ensure funding for Historic Black Colleges and Universities, more affordable 2 and 4-year college, and support for trade and vocational education.

2. Safe Communities. We will make our communities safe again. Every poor African-American child must be able to walk down the street in peace. Safety is a civil right. We will invest in training and funding both local and federal law enforcement operations to remove the gang members, drug dealers, and criminal cartels from our neighborhoods. The reduction of crime is not merely a goal – but a necessity.

3. Equal Justice Under the Law. We will apply the law fairly, equally and without prejudice. There will be only one set of rules – not a two-tiered system of justice. Equal justice also means the same rules for Wall Street.

4. Tax Reforms to Create Jobs and Lift up People and Communities. We will lower the business tax from 35 percent to 15 percent and bring thousands of new companies to our shores. We will also have a massive middle class tax cut, tax-free childcare savings accounts, and childcare tax deductions and credits. We will also have tax holidays for inner-city investment, and new tax incentives to get foreign companies to relocate in blighted American neighborhoods. We will empower cities and states to seek a federal disaster designation for blighted communities in order to initiate the rebuilding of vital infrastructure, the demolition of abandoned properties, and the increased presence of law enforcement.

5. Financial Reforms to Expand Credit to Support New Job Creation. We will have financial reforms to make it easier for young African-Americans to get credit to pursue their dreams in business and create jobs in their communities. Dodd-Frank has been a disaster, making it harder for small businesses to get the credit they need. The policies of the Clintons brought us the financial recession – through lifting Glass-Steagall, pushing subprime lending, and blocking reforms to Fannie and Freddie. It’s time for a 21stcentury Glass Steagall and, as part of that, a priority on helping African-American businesses get the credit they need. We will also encourage small-business creation by allowing social welfare workers to convert poverty assistance into repayable but forgive-able micro-loans.

6. Trade That Works for American Workers. We will stop the massive, chronic trade deficits that have emptied out our jobs. We won’t let our jobs be stolen from us anymore. We will stop the offshoring of companies to low-wage countries and raise wages at home – meaning rent and bills become instantly more affordable. We will tell executives that if they move their factories to Mexico or other countries, we will put a 35% tax on their product before they ship it back into the United States.

7. Protection from Illegal Immigration. We will restore the civil rights of African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and all Americans, by ending illegal immigration. No group has been more economically harmed by decades of illegal immigration than low-income African-American workers. Hillary’s pledge to enact “open borders,” – made in secret to a foreign bank – would destroy the African-American middle class. We will reform visa rules to give American workers preference for jobs, and we will suspend reckless refugee admissions from terror-prone regions that cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. We will use a portion of the money saved by enforcing our laws, and suspending refugees, to re-invested in our inner cities.

8. New Infrastructure Investment. We will leverage public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years, of which the inner cities will be a major beneficiary. We will cancel all wasteful climate change spending from Obama-Clinton, including all global warming payments to the United Nations. This will save $100 billion over 8 years. We will use these to help rebuild the vital infrastructure, including water systems, in America’s inner cities.

9. Protect the African-American Church. We will protect religious liberty, promote strong families, and support the African-American church.

10. America First Foreign Policy. We will stop trying to build Democracies overseas, wasting trillions, but focus on defeating terrorists and putting America First.

  1. At the same time people are protesting the recent US presidential elections in cities like New York, Philadelphia, and Chicago. I get that people can protest and it is their right. But isn’t there something ironic about protesting a democratic vote (unless the protest is about how the votes were collected or counted)? Does this mean that Americans no longer believe in democracy and want another method to choose their leaders? Or just sour grapes? I do not recall widespread protests when Barack Obama won. Or is this sabotage in the plans for Trump if he does not bow down to the establishment?

  2. Donald will soon learn that he needs to make concessions to traditional will of the Deep State. Donald will soon learn that Hillary, the lady he just defeated, was just the shadow of the shadow government. Donald will soon learn the truth. The issue is, how is he going to fair? Will he bow and kowtow to their will or will he fight. He either devours them or he will be devoured.

  3. He will be sabotaged. This time by same the democrats who were complaining about the republicans! Gee… LOL!

  4. chickens coming home 2 roost! I do remember republican leaders vowing 2 sabotage bho’s presidency; a billionaire reality star questioning bho’s birth legitimacy; and a rabid and racist tea-party movement that was virulent in its opposition 2 bho even as he laboriously went about saving the republic from economic collapse spawned by his incompetent republican predecessor. the arc of payback is sharp and short.

  5. I have one conspiracy theory and a comment. First, the conspiracy: The globalists could have rigged last night! They really could have. I mean, the level of control of election coders into George Soro’s McCarthy Machine Voting System is incredible. The question is, why did they allow the Trump win in key states? The man was winning with an average of one hundred thousand votes in the swing states… so I wonder how the globalists managed to allow this one to slip by?

There’s but one reason. They want the citizens of Americans to demand to be controlled by the Deep State. Obama can easily come out and speak against these protests. But he hasn’t. So far, he’s no where to be found!

Last, this is my comment: These are protests against democracy! That smacks in the face of democracy, or does it not? What do these hungry children loitering around New York City, Chicago, Seattle, want? Chips? Instead of buckle down and see how they can lobby Trump through Student Unions and Associations to do some good for students they are rather protesting the very democracy they should applaud. America is really descending into entertainment.

  6. Trump himself set the tone for these protests by his constantly claiming that the balloting would be rigged, and that he would accept the results only if he won. In this vein, why wouldn’t those opposed to his disgusting calls and to some of his supporters at home and abroad be equally entitled to protest his victory? His conduct smacked of someone who knew dirty methods were being used to help him win and needed to divert attention from this suspicion against him by claiming endlessly the foul play was from his opponents. Intensive hacking to back him from abroad leaves a very sour taste in those against foreign intervention not only when the US practises it. A demigod who is effectively a usurper should not have the right to plant his minions in foreign countries, if we’re to take seriously his own opposition to foreign intervention.
Moreover, he lost the popular vote and that raises some questions about his legitimacy, just like George Bush’s first win.

  7. Most of the protesters are elements of the far left. What you have is elements of black lives matter, some LGBT and other leftist extremely upset that a lot of the progressive changes brought about by the Obama administration could be eroded.

To that I quote Barack Obama “Elections have consequences”.

His administration invested a lot of capital into these social culture war issues without understanding how the electorate will truly react.

See America is still a very centrist majority population and people just got sick and tired of this mad rush to the left. It’s unbelievable to think that last year one of the main topics of discussion was The administrations executive order allowing people to use any bathroom of their choice as long as they identify as that sex. Women who had been raped were called bigots because they simply pointed out that they would be terrified to see a man in the ladies restroom. When Kris Jenner miraculously transformed into a woman, Obama was first in line applauding and called him a hero. Political correctness is one thing, insanity is another.

So yes people have been disgusted and patiently waiting to send a message especially folks from the heartland and more Christian backgrounds.

That’s why you saw some states flip red on election night.

Look at the returns and understand how people voted. Latinos who were supposed to be so upset and so butt hurt about Trump comments voted 29% in favor. That’s 2 points better than Romney who got 27%. See that demographic is very conservative leaning and a lot of them privately will not be down with this progressive propaganda.

Women, where was the massive repudiation of Trump by white women? We knew he would win amongst white men but white women did not support Hilary en mass. Black people, need I say more. They didn’t show up for her.

All these folks lied to the pollsters. Why? Because of the madness with political correctness.

Elections have consequences and yes you will have to use the bathroom that is consistent with your gender at birth. Sorry we ain’t playing that no more.

  9. What are you guys on. Trump has been the beneficiary of the system you’re talking about. His school was robbing people yet he is president elect. He got on the stage and claimed during the elections that he owned businesses that he does not. Yet the press was calling Hillary crooked. There is nothing that Hillary and Bill have done that Trump hasn’t done substantially more. He hasn’t paid taxes in how many years, he used Chinese steel, imported workers to work on his buildings and broke contracts left and right. This guy literally is the biggest liar ever because he has done every single thing he rails against. Yet if like a regular person he failed at as many businesses as he has, he was no longer able to get capital he would have washed out long time ago. Though he doesn’t concern me. What concerns me are people that rightfully see Hilary and Bill and yet look at this guy and extol him as the answer. Your true beef isn’t about truth, integrity or loyalty all things he obviously lacks by far, your truth is that you just didn’t have the crook you wanted because that is what he is. No bones about it. Someone who gets up and claims to own businesses that are easily proven not his is the worst kind of liar but fortunately for him he’s found the worst kind of audience who are more interested in name calling, threats and crudeness. That crudeness mind you is him on tape talking about visiting naked beauty pageant contestants unannounced and even his grab em by the psy comments. Even if he was just bragging which I actually hope he was an intelligent person would ask what kind of individual thinks comments like that would impress someone as opposed to maybe causing the other person to think he has a serious problem. If you seriously look up to Trump I can only say good luck with that. The number of times he has broken contracts and his word portends very badly for you. On the other hand there are many billionaires and millionaires who’ve not filled bankruptcy once so this idea that he did what they’re all doing is idiocy. He does what those with his kind of ineptness does that’s all.

    • WikiLeaks and innumerable other minions at the behest of the demigod flooded everywhere with materials demonizing only Hillary, and people are very susceptible to propaganda everywhere.

    • You say they are suspicious of propaganda everywhere. No these people lack critical thinking. When have you ever seen the FBI and Putin on the same side of an issue. No from a critical thinking standpoint you would wonder why the Russian hackers if they are indeed Russian, are only releasing Hillary’s stuff and not Trump. Regardless me and mine are going to be fine. My only hope is that African countries will realize that the prescriptions of the USA are false and falsehoods. It isn’t the length of the term or the number of terms that defines any form of government. It is the true desire and intent of the leaders of that government and their raw ability to carry out the will of the people. No one complains about a great leader who’s been in office 40 years but the criminals who wish to steal. Three months of bad leadership and you will see good people wailing.

  10. It’s also funny that he spoke out against the electoral college a few time previously and look what’s saving him now.

  11. I don’t believe anyone here puts blind faith in Trump no more than they would any president of the US. There is a reason why many people would never want that job. Politics is a dirty business. But Trump’s character is besides the question about protest. What would happen if people protested Obama’s victory in 2008 and 2012? Would we call them racists? Would we say they could not accept the nation’s choice of a black man as a leader? I’m just saying if the shoe was on the other foot, people would have a different reaction. That makes me ask if this protest is valid. But then again, I think if the Dems would have had a real primary and put up a candidate that the side really wanted, there’s little chance a candidate with so many unfavorables would have reached the white house.

    • Your point is moot. Black people have voted for white Presidents since we had the right to vote so. I mean you do know Obama was our first opportunity to vote for someone not white right. We’ve voted for and respected those we didn’t vote for since the 60s. Most telling is when Gore ran against Bush. While things didn’t improve a lot for us under Obama if at all, there was a marked improvement for a lot of us under Clinton, so if ever there was a time to go out and jack stuff up to me that might have been it if only for the chance to keep what Clinton started going. Yet Gore conceded and we respectfully watched at Cheney destroyed the country.

    • No, it is not moot! I don’t think the question has anything to do with black voters. If people came out and protested Obama, many will call them racist, whether they were black or white! Yet few refer to the protesters (black and white) against Trump as racist. There are enough Blacks on both sides to not be drawing lines.

    • I think we need to acknowledge why they are protesting. and lest we 4get there was well coordinated and enunciated protests and threats by the republican establishment even before obama took office, immediately after he assumed office and throughout his presidency. does the teaparty and birther movements ring any bells? what is and remains a consistent character flaw of republicans and by extension those who share their ideology is that it’s their way or the highway. their candidate’s been elected therefore all americans owe a duty 2 rally behind him nevermind how meanspirited and hateful both he and his supporters may have been to large swathes of fellow citizens who look or think differently. there’s never been a president more reviled or disrespected by the right/alt right than bho and god knows there have been presidents more 2 the left of him. bottom line is the real reason for the rejection of the bho legacy has been masked by lesser claims of economic stagnation, national insecurity, gay rights, and anti abortion. the real reason for this seismic political outcome is overarching fear of multiculturalism and reinstatement of white sociopolitical dominance. period.

    • None of which I disagree with. The birther movement was racist. The tea partiers are racists. Many Trump supporters are racists. Some are not. Some are indeed stuck in economic hardship. These people form a significant voting bloc as well. So both reasons for why people voted Trump into power are valid. That said, Trump has got only four years. These protesters can begin to organize and find a better candidate next time. That is not to say they cannot protest. Protest they can but ultimately democracy has spoken. And they too can speak loud in four years! Even Bernie, who I thought was the better candidate to Hillary was rejected by the same party, the same folks now marching on the street. Obviously, most of them do not understand the economic message that spurred on Bernie’s appeal among independents, and which when it was gone in the choice of Hillary, moved to Trump. Bernie and Trump are the same on one thing – the economy. I think in order for America to move together, forward, folks need to concentrate more on where people live and eat than who they want others to recognize as their bedroom partners. When the one percent become richer, Blacks suffer most. When the American economy does better, the bottom is also lifted. Obama’s obsession with gay marriage, lilly ledbetter fair pay act, transgender bathrooms and so on came off as misdirected especially when income inequality had soured, especially when Black wealth had bled to piss poor. So yes, some of Trump’s supporters are racist. But we knew that. The democrats didn’t care whether you could put food on your table or pay your rent either. In the end, no one cares but you would rather find a factory job that pays 10 bucks an hour, as Trump has PROMISED, than end up in Hillary’s private cell with a job that pays 60 cents an hour.

    • points all well noted but we all know or shud know by now that on the economy the overwhelming reason that growth has been slow and checkered is that bho’s economic agenda was blocked by an intransigent and hostile republican congress…the very same one by the way that together with their party leader undertook two unpaid for wars, gave huge tax breaks to corporations that shuttered factories in those very rust belt states and moved operations to china and elsewhere, and deregulated a gluttonous financial services sector that cumulatively brought the economy to its knees. I get the anger that many lost jobs that are never coming back but in this case it’s clearly misdirected. ..cognitive dissonance as it were. bho was their bogeyman…everything that cud go wrong nevermind it’s genesis was bho’s fault. so in the twilight of his presidency when the macro economy has been saved and the market fundamentals are strong, when jobs are on the up and gas prices at all time lows, when for the first time in living memory there’s universal healthcare for over 20 million people including those with preexisting conditions, all these achieved under the nose of a hateful congress, we still hear about how this election was about the economy. that is the outward mask of a deeper and more sinister feeling in a large swathe of the population – a fear and rejection of multiculturalism, exhibited throughout djt’s campaign and expressed in every poll expressing gestalt at the direction of the country.

    • Solomon Azumah-Gomez Honestly the thing you’re not looking at is that these people that voted for Trump because they were tired of the same old same old, sent incumbent Republicans back to Washington like it was going out of style. This is why I say they used various excuses to vote for Trump but it was the racial one they were tuned in to. It would be different if they were selective between the Republicans that were for Trump and the ones that were not, but they didn’t make that distinction which is telling because Trump ran against all of Washington. Typically when they want to really drain the swamp and it has happened previously, even in state houses they will vote anyone who’s been there a good minute out.

  12. Ares Mars , you have summed up what others have been struggling to say ,it’s one of the reasons also why despite his outbursts evangelicals prayed for him and annoint him to take back America from this leftist policies.Great insights and clarity but some will still headline skimmers

    • What no one can explain to me is how an evangelicals can listen to the tapes of Trump on surprise visits on naked women in beauty pageants and say this is the guy. The number of divorces don’t bother me nor his wife’s naked pictures but based on what conservatives supposedly stand for he is the complete opposite. That’s what I don’t get. If you don’t care for Hillary I get it. Yet if you really want honestly and integrity and believe that both are desirable qualities, there is no way that you can say Donald Trump even comes close. See what I am struggling with is the so called logic of these people. There is none. Kind of like how evangelicals spent all of Obama’s term lamenting the degradation of the whitehouse because the Obama family was so less than, but now Donal Trump is this bastion of class and a return to values. No. When I see things that don’t make sense it typically means that people are not being honest about their true reasons for doing something. It’s no different for you. If a friend told you that they were leaving their spouse because their spouse does or doesn’t do A, B and C and then they get with someone who is clearly worse than the spouse they complained about when you try to apply logic based on what they told you, you’re going to say my friend you’re not making sense.

  13. Just “sour grapes” I would be greatly disappointed if Trump bows to the establishment … Bowing to the establishment means great trouble for world peace …

  14. If all these promises are kept as they are freely said, then American will be getting better.

  15. This is a great agenda and I too hope we won’t hear more about Stop & Frisk from Trump. The only things missing are ending mass incarceration and legalizing marijuana but Obama did neither and none of the ten listed above, so can’t complain if some of this actually gets done.
